Surfing
Surfing is to Yahoo! what the Dewey Decimal System is to libraries.
In other words, Surfing is the  categorization of websites.
It also happens to be how Yahoo! began. Today our Surfing Team continues
its passion for finding, evaluating, and organizing information on the
Internet. They have a voracious appetite for learning about new
topics. They are curious individuals who are skilled at intuitively and
efficiently analyzing and classifying diverse, unstructured pieces of
information across the Yahoo!  network. Surfers are critical to the
relevance and intuitive nature of information presented on Yahoo!.

Qualifications : Bachelors degree in any field, good communication
skills and a love for surfing the net.

Technical
Technical Yahoos are very…well, technical. They develop and maintain
software that provides behind-the-scenes functionality for all Yahoo!
properties. These highly skilled computer  scientists are
responsible for creating software programs that allow users to instantly
search for information, shop for merchandise, check stock prices and sports
scores, send  emails and instant messages, store and share photos,
play games, and listen to music.

Thanks to the Technical Yahoos, our advertisers not only have their
ads placed when and where they want, but they also receive information
and data, including the number of people who view their ads and their
respective demographics.        

Qualifications : B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M. Tec. in Comp. Sc./IT or equivalent
UED
UED is the creative “design center” of Yahoo! UED controls the visual
presentation and interactive behavior of content and tools on the Y!
 network. The people of UED   are creative dreamers. They are artists.
 They are scientists. They are imaginative.  UED brings solid
user-centered design practices to each and every step of the creative
design process. Every thing that you see and use on the Y! site is
researched, conceived,planned, and produced by those who work in UED.
The roles are many and varied and include Interaction Designers,
Visual Designers; Design Managers, Web Developers; Project Managers,
User Researchers, and Producers. UED has one central goal: to create
and deliver innovate, user-centered design solutions to products and
services across the Yahoo! network. 

Qualifications : Bachelors in Arts and hobbies should include painting,
visual arts.Should have a flair for creativity.

Technology Research
Yahoos in technology research in the Yahoo! R&D India center focus
on challenging problems that will be incorporated in the next
generation products from yahoo! Whether they are part of the arms
race to combat SPAM or mine the web and extract useful information
and make it  as relevant to our users as possible, these super
technical visionary minds are at work in creating a more useful
Internet for all of us.

Qualifications : B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M. Tec. in Comp. Sc./IT and Ph.D.
 or equivalent
