Salary: 30,000 € - 70,000 €
Description:
Assists clients in meeting their business objectives by providing superior professional services and solutions, and to foster a relationship with client base that achieves Sybase Professional Services (SPS) business goals and objectives. Technical responsibilities include problem identification, system architecture definition, hardware/software specification and/or design, implementation, testing, client training and deployment. Analyzes, designs, develops, modifies and maintains software and systems or other related data processing activities. Project management responsibilities include project management within budget, resource allocation and supervision, interface with company and client managers, and cost/schedule monitoring. Financial responsibilities include project cost estimating, proposal generation and invoicing.
Required Skills:
- Masters or Bachelors Degree in Business, Computer Science or a related discipline - or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge in: SQL, ideally based on Sybase, Oracle, MS-SQL or DB2.
- Knowledge of either PowerBuilder or of Object Oriented Programming Concepts and Languages (like Java, ideally also J2EE, Component architectures,...)
- Good Consulting-SoftSkills (listening, analytical Skills, communicating professionally,...)
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of Modelling Concepts, UML.
- Willing to travel and to spend significant time at a client site.
- Problem Solving/Judgment and Decision Making Skills

Consultant will report with a direct line to a Team Lead Professional Services Belux.
- Responsible for assisting clients in meeting their business objectives by providing superior professional services and solutions
- Fostering a relationship with client base that achieves Sybase Professional Services (SPS) business goals and objectives
- Identifying problems an propose a solution
- Seeing issues as an opportunity to help the client
- Assist in “Design and Architecture”
- Hands on “Implementation and Testing” skills
- Client training
- Modifying and maintaining software and systems or other related processing activities
- Be able to work in a Team as well as independently
- Assisting in project scoping, cost estimating, proposal generation, risk assessment
Required Skills:
- Masters or Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline,
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills as well as clearly articulate technical issues both written and verbally in English and Dutch and verbally in French.
- Can effectively cope with change; isn’t upset when things are up in the air; exercises good judgment in determining whether things have to be finished before moving on.
Desired Skills:
- Wanting to become a credible, articulate and confident presenter
- Is comfortable working independently or as part of a team
- Is a clear communicator
- Can be counted on to exceed goals successfully
- Knowledge of Java (JDBC, J2EE) or .NET or PowerBuilder, HTML, XML, XSLT
- Knowledge/Experience with Application Servers is an advantage
- Experience with modeling (UML, ERD) is a strong advantage
- Experience as an Analyst is a strong advantage

- Experienced within the “BI – Data Warehousing arena”. This is a firm requirement
