Job Type: Contract, 12 months +

Salary: To $750 / day

Description:
The successful candidate will join a team responsible for the administration of over 500 Sybase, Oracle and MSSQL databases. The individual will be key member of the team providing 2nd level production support services. Mirroring and complementing the existing teams overseas, this group will take ownership for all Infrastructure related issues across the Australian and Asia Pacific operations, liaising closely with European and American divisions.

Required Skills:
- Very strong Sybase ASE (1192, 12, 125)
- Sybase Replication Server V12
- ASE⁄Repserver Internals
- Strong Perl, Shell, Solaris, Linux, SQL
- Strong Performance and Tuning Skills
- Strong UNIX understanding & command line skills

Desired Skills:
- SQL Server 2000⁄2005
- Oracle (9i, 10g)
- BMC SQL-BackTrack
- Exposure to SAN environments
- Exposure SUN Solaris
- Exposure Linux
- Veritas Cluster, Volume Manager and FileSystem
- Experience with SSH and its configuration.
- C programming.
- Exposure to Java
